Tuesday Webinar To Reclaim Our Govt. From Big Money Interests: Pledge To Amend

“Will you Pledge to Amend?”

In this election year, that’s the question we’ll be asking candidates up and down the ballot.

We need YOU to “bird dog” [search out and pursue with dogged determination] for the Pledge to Amend Campaign! We need YOU to ask that question–again and again and again — and let us know how the candidates respond…

Join our webinar Tuesday, April 10, to learn how – RSVP here!

Whether it passes directly through Congress or through an Article V Convention of the States, we need state and federal legislators in place who support the We the People Amendment.  Our plan remains the same: Pass our amendment by 2026 (at the latest). Those people elected to lower office this year will likely advance to state and federal office over the next few cycles. This question is valid and necessary now.

When there’s a candidate debate, when your congress members are in district for campaign events, and when candidates come knocking for your vote, get them on record. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it can make national headlines as happened to Mitt Romney when he declared, “Corporations are people, my friend!”

“Will you Pledge to Amend?”

That’s the question we’ve been asking elected officials since Move to Amend launched this effort in 2013. Our goal is to secure 300 new pledges from candidates running for office this year.

Move to Amend local affiliate groups have been participating in Pledge to Amend by lobbying their elected officials, and it pays off. 52 co-sponsors on the We the People Amendment don’t magically appear.

Based on their work, we’re building a database so we know who does (and doesn’t) support the We the People Amendment. Based on the work of Move to Amend’s bird dogs, we’ll know who and where our friends are, who can be persuaded, and who should be challenged.

PS – Pledge to Amend is a critical campaign to put local, state, and federal candidates on record about their position on the We the People Amendment. We need to get at least 300 pledges before the election to meet our goals this year – join our webinar Tuesday, April 10 to learn how you can help with this important campaign.

We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling and other related cases, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.
