Late Night host Seth Meyers sliced and diced Rep. Paul Ryan’s cynical dishonesty in a “Closer Look” segment. Meyer’s was responding to an emailed objection Ryan sent about anther piece that Meyers had done the week before.
“And unlike Republicans and their health care bill, we actually read the whole email,” Meyers said.
Masterfully employing a series of clips of Ryan objecting to the Obamacare debates, Meyer’s deftly displays the brazen hypocrisy of Ryan and House Republicans.
“Everything that Paul Ryan claimed to hate about the Obamacare process in 2009, he’s doing now,” Meyers said.
Included in the piece is a clip of a yahoo Texas congress critter caught flat-footed pontificating on how Maine insured those with preexisting conditions. When the journalist asked if the critter would support the kind of tax used in Maine the dunderhead had to admit he did’t know anything about the Maine program. The guy is a poster child for the Republican party.
Now, if only the Dems would pull their hand out of lobbyists pockets and do the right thing; the only thing that will address the national farce we call a health care system – champion a true single-payer health care for all.
