“It doesn’t take a lot of effort to do a whole lot of damage.”
The Commoner Call (8/20/18)
The Russian don’t have to manipulate voter numbers to transform losers into winners, all they have to do is throw enough shade on the election process to throw doubt about the results, which can then undermine the very legitimacy of the government. Doubt and confusion can be just the kind of toxic mix to confuse, divide and paralyze the people and government.
Mother Jones reporters Pema Levy and AJ Vicens discuss their new investigation into the ongoing and rapidly escalating danger Russia poses to the 2018 elections.
Mueller end game
Mother Jones D.C. Bureau Chief and co-author of “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War On America And The Election Of Donald Trump” explains why many may well be disappointed when special counsel Robert Mueller issues his final report on the investigation of Russian influence on the 2016 election. Corn notes while a final report will be issued, there is no obligation for the special counsel to issue a “big, massive” report.
Calling it the “biggest misconception” that most people have about the Mueller investigation Corn explains:
“Those Americas out there who are waiting for Robert Mueller to give us the full truth of what happened in terms of the Russian attack on the United States, or anything else he might have found that’s troubling, we are likely to not be satisfied.”
Further, whatever report does appear could go no further than Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. It may or may not go to congress and full public disclosure may never happen.
